This body of work started in 2023 when my daughter had a brain tumour removed, and in the run up to her operation I would calm myself by making a silver spoon. The process of forging the metal was both soothing and distracting. The phrase ‘a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down’ played out in the background of my mind.
